		<description>It&#039;s true that you can learn without buying, and that&#039;s what I did for awhile, but eventually you get to a point where you need the full version. I needed a lot of the stuff they were putting out in their nightly builds that really does help with their Android support.

I just read yesterday that they released a new public version of the Corona SDK. If you&#039;ve not downloaded that yet, you should because I think you&#039;ll find a lot of Android improvements.

About whether to get the PRO or iOS version of Corona -- that&#039;s another post I&#039;ve been meaning to write... My Android sales have been dismal. I&#039;m now seeing 10x the sales on iOS for Christmas Crazy Eights. I&#039;m not sure it&#039;s worth the extra trouble to create an Android version of something you plan to *sell*.  I hear that advertising in a free app is working well on Android, but my game is a party game, so I can&#039;t see advertising ever working well with it.

I looked into XNA long ago on a project I never finished. http://wizardcombat.blogspot.com -- I&#039;m hoping to bring some version of that to mobile devices some day.</description>

You just need to download the free trial and join the forums. So that&#039;s $349 you can save a year until you are ready to build to the Android Market and iOS App Store.

Corona&#039;s support for the Android platform is also not that great at the moment (saying this as someone trying to decide between the Pro and iOS license myself), and the evidence abounds in their Android forums. So you might also want to consider getting the lower license.

Also, as a fellow developer, I&#039;d say the &quot;help me build better apps&quot; part is suspect, since one of Corona&#039;s biggest issue is it&#039;s lack of user extensibility beyond the SDK. As a .NET developer, you lose a lot of that freedom to design your app, your way. If part of the Corona SDK is flawed in anyway, there&#039;s not much you can do about it except to provide feedback and hope they do something about it. In the meantime, you&#039;d have to follow their flawed way of doing things. So &quot;building better apps&quot; is a bit of a hyperbole. &quot;Building apps easier&quot; would be more appropriate in this case. Not to mention on the .NET side, you might want to look into XNA as well, since it allows you to deploy to Xbox, Windows as well as WP7 with a single skill set while learning about all 3 platforms.</description>
